Escaping to Cabo for #wishfulWednesday

It’s time to escape. And the sad thing about it is that many of us have nowhere to go. Rest assured, we’ve been pinning away, trying to fashion an escape hatch as formidable as a NY winter.

The answer? Tropical prints. Flowing designs. Camis that seem to slide off the shoulder. Yes.

Plus a daydream or two about Cabo. Does that place even exist anymore? Reality is my wintery view out a Midtown window. But let’s just ignore that and soak in a few images of Cabo, instead.

So what should we wear to the beach, today?

Keepin' it Cozy

Right now, I'm peering outside the window mentally preparing myself for New York's brutal cold. These are the days for cozy scarves, hot coffee, and an equally comforting outfit. The only way to survive brisk city days is to keep warm (and in style).

For casual afternoons in the office or power-walking to pick up the last items on your shopping list, pair our Karyn zipper blouse with a pair of jeans, low-heeled booties, and your favorite chunky scarf.

Olympic Memories

Of course I watch the Olympics! When I can. When I’m not working or rushing carpooling or parenting. When was that again? Hmmm...

Maybe I’m not watching them regularly, but I did catch that extraordinary young Russian figure skater bask in glory. I made time to sit with my kids through the opening ceremony. But what I remember most are those commercials—the ones that play your heartstrings like a fiddle and leave you crying like a baby.

Have you seen the one from P&G?

Here in the office, we debated whether they are selling products or the American spirit. Either way, don’t watch it without a box of tissues. And you’ll probably feel like cheering the athletes by the end.

Go red, white, and blue!

Valentines & Galentines

I love flowers. Just not on Valentines Day.

Of course, my Valentine knows this—we’ve been married for the past decade. He knows I prefer suprises to expectations.

Earlier this week, he came home with a bouquet of red red roses. Maybe they will be fading by the holiday, but the scent will be just as sweet.

So what will you be surprising your Valentine or Galentine with this week? No matter what you are giving (or hoping to get!) here are some more sweet ideas.

cooper & ella super bowl style

Gear up, ladies, it’s game time. This Sunday, the Super Bowl is coming to town (our town!), and we want to be ready for game day. And by ready, we mean decked out in our best party attire—Super Bowl party attire, that is.

Even those who watch the Super Bowl solely for rumored Destiny’s Child reunions (guilty) can appreciate the wings and beers that come with this Sunday’s festivities. We’re drafting style MVP (and cooper & ella founder) Kara for touchdown-worthy outfit options.

Are you hosting a Super Bowl party? Head to our "All Things Super Bowl" Pinterest board for plenty of inspiration.

Get the look! Head to cooper & ella to check out our Mary Zipper blouse in white and navy!

From day to night

The cooper & ella gal is busy. She spends time with her kids in the morning, runs to business meetings in the afternoon, then dashes off to meet her hubby at a holiday party. She needs wearable pieces that transition from day to night—or in this case, from preschool to downtown.

This holiday season, pair your Mimi studded blouse with black jeans. Dress down in the morning with a pair of comfortable shoes. Later, grab your favorite pumps along with a sequin blazer for a fun holiday evening. If you’re feeling festive, throw on a red lipstick for the ultimate party outfit.
